I'm 29 with over 5 years Nanny experience. I recently moved home to Portland after living in Los Angeles and am looking for either part time or full time work. I've work with children ranging ages from 1 year to 12 years. My most recent long term employment was while living in LA. I worked full time for a family with two girls 4 and 7. In this position I would arrive in morning prepare breakfast, lunch for school see each child off to their school. The 4 year old attended primary school within walking distance form their home in which case I would walk her there and pick her up after her 3 hour school session. The 7 year old would be picked up regularly for school. Her classes ran later in the day and therefor I would pick her up along with any potential "play date" she had Read more for the day. There were often after school programs that both girls attended. They varied depending on week day but included, gymnastics, ballet, and jujitsu. I would prepare the girls for the given classes, take them and pick them up. Once home from after school programs I prepared dinner, alloted a window of time for play which sometimes would include reading hour, then bed time. In between working my long term position I worked part time for a family in the same neighborhood who had two boys 1 year and 4 years. My time with them was more casual as the mother stayed home but I would come take over, prepare meals while their mother attended to her business as an Interior Designer. I often would sit for the 1 year during his sleeping hours, while her oldest was in school. Educationally, I have experience as a Mentor for grade school aged girls where I encouraged students against the dangers of drug and alcohol abuse through various workshops. I have also familiarized myself with the Waldorf style of teaching. I myself am a Fine Arts graduated. I finished my BFA from Portland State University in 2009. Shortly after is when I made the move to LA and began a part time position working as a freelance productions artist. Now that I am back in Portland I am continuing to pursue my artistic endeavours. I will be returning back to school where I plan to study Multimedia. Child care by far has been the most rewarding experience for me. I am by nature young at heart especially when it comes to creative self expression. One of the highlights from my last position was our play time together. Every day was a new discovery.
