I am very capable with working with children. I have done baby-sitting for family members, but not as a career. I have a Master's Equivalency in Speech/Language impaired. I worked with young babies and children at United Cerebral Palsy working on developmental milestones. The children had numerous special needs. (Cerebral Palsy, Down's syndrome, muscular dystrophy, a variety of syndromes that are rare). I was responsible for writing progress reports. among a team of other therapists. We were responsible for feeding, changing diapers, and providing therapy while working with the parents as well. The therapy was center-based. The parents brought their children to the facility. I also worked in the Allentown School District. I was responsible for the Project Happy classrooms. These classrooms were for developmentally-delayed pre-school children. I provided lessons as a group for the children, and I also say some of them individually based on their needs. I did Read more kindergarten screenings at the end of each school year. I also worked with kindergarten through 5th grade students doing speech therapy. My favorite position was Early Intervention. I provided therapy in the homes, many center city homes where the needs were great, as well as suburban areas. I loved loved loved that position. It did not feel like a job to me, but a privilege. I was also able to engage the parents to incorporate techniques for learning into everyday experiences. I feel it is an honor to be entrusted with children, especially if you leave them with skills that will be functional for their everyday experiences. I have almost all my certifications except need to renew CPR training. Criminal background, etc, is all current, however, it may be required to access it for each position applied. By the way, I am more than comfortable with pets, as I have six cats, three dogs, two guinea pigs, five birds, and a beta fish. They live forever!!! I feel that this opportunity will be perfect for me, and for your family. I also commend you for starting a business. I am very comfortable going into homes. I think that I would be what you want for your daughter. I have two children, a 14 year old daughter and a 16 year old son, who is on the Autism Spectrum. My degree is a B.S. in Education/Special Ed./ Speech Correction and a Master's Equivalency in Speech/Language Impaired. I graduated Summa Cum Laude.
