Hello. My name is Kim. I am in my mid 40s. I have a Masters of Social Work and have a full time job at a DC hospital, M-F, typically 8:30-5:00. Previous jobs include child welfare work and work with victims of crime, many of them children.Throughout my career I have had the opportunity  to work with children with different developmental and/or physical needs. ADD/ADHD do not scare me. I have a lot of patience, so a child that needs additional time, attention and assistance would probably do well with my personality. Things that are important to me in child care are safety, patience, and following "what works" for your individual child and your family.  I find that positive reinforcement works well with most children. I do not do any physical discipline.  I prefer to limit television and video game time, but I will defer to your household rules. I like dogs, as Read more long as they are well behaved, non-aggressive and house broken.  I can handle cats also. Why would a girl my age babysit? Great question. I like kids and I also love vacation. I use babysitting, pet sitting and house sitting in my vacation or fun money fund. Last year I went to Scotland, Germany and Yellowstone.
