Hi! I'm Ciara a stay-at-home mom to my two kids (2&5) and I'm looking for 1-2 kids (aged 2-5) to babysit in our home or we can all come to your home (like a big playdate!). I'm open to full-time or occasional opportunities. We live on an awesome property with lots of opportunity for adventures in nature (big backyard, woods with trails, creek). I follow a nature-based preschool curriculum with my kids and currently we're learning about Space. We switch learning topics every 2-3 weeks - next up Nocturnal Animals, the Artic & Ice! We also just added a Junior Herbalist piece to our curriculum. The kids learn about different herbs in nature and what they can be used for. Right now we're studying Chamomile and made a batch of Lemon-Chamomile-Honey popsicles to have on hand if we get hit with the flu or a sore throat and need something Read more that's soothing & hydrating : ) We like to spend a lot of time outside, in any type of weather. Inside, most of our toys are open-ended, wooden or made of natural materials and non-battery operated. We don't have a TV and we're not big into mainstream characters (i.e. Frozen & Disney princesses) - but if your kids like them that's fine! We also like to go to the weekly story time at the library. I'm happy to nourish your little one! I think what our kids eat is the cornerstone to how they feel & function. We eat pretty much 100% organic and we support our local farmers markets. In our family we talk a lot about food and where it comes from and what it does for our body. Ever since I became a parent I became the parent that my parent-friends could count on to watch their kids. Parents feel that their kids are in safe hands with me but that I also allow them to try things (based on their abilities) without being overly protective & smothering. I'm an advocate for children's range of feelings whether they're super excited & positive or sad & angry. I think all feelings should be heard and kids should feel safe to express their feelings. I never talk about feelings in terms of being "right" or "wrong" or shame a child for thinking or feeling a certain way. I think most of all a child should feel loved & cared for whether that's at home, with a babysitter, in school or with friends.
