I am a 22 year old college student at Kutztown University looking for childcare work in the Philadelphia area for the summer. I live in Schuylkill County, Pa, but have a place to live near Temple University for the summer. I currently work at Happy Hearts Learning and Daycare center in Frackville, Pa. I have previously worked at KinderCare learning center in Douglassville, Pa while living in Kutztown. I worked for the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit in a preschool for children with special needs. I am also currently employed as a Social Support Worker through AIM agency, in which I work with a 24 year old girl who has Down syndrome, working on enhancing her social skills. I have worked with children of all ages and backgrounds and I have no specific preferences. I have all Pa clearances that do not need updating until November, I am CPR certified, certified in Read more Child Abuse Awareness, fire safety training, all necessary trainings to work in a childcare center, a Pennsylvania Early Learning Keys to Professional Development trainings and professional development records, and training on illnesses and communicable diseases. I have volunteered for many years at different Special Olympics events. I started as an Early Childhood and Special education major, stayed in that for 3 years before deciding to change to Social Work, so I have education in both of those things. I am expected to graduate in summer of 2016. I am very passionate about children. Ever since I could remember, I knew I wanted to work with kids. It is one thing that I am completely sure of in life. I am dependable, honest, trustworthy, experienced, and am very flexible with schedules. I know the importance of the well-being and education of children. I believe that my passion, dedication, and easygoing/friendly personality is what makes me good at childcare. I would be delighted to spend my summer working with kids, teaching them and learning from them.
