My name is Alexandra Smith. I am a Masters graduate of Temple University. I have six years experience working with children. I started working in a nursery program for four-year-olds my junior and senior year in high school. (2009-2011). In the program, I wrote and taught my own lesson plans, had my own case study, and got the children ready and prepared for kindergarten. I graduated with a certificate to work in a day care center. When I was attending West Chester University (2013-2016) I had the opportunity to nanny for three families. I was responsible for caring and supervising minor children, promoted independent and social interaction of a 6 year old with learning disabilities, taught and helped children with homework and other schoolwork, and performed activities that included occupational therapy and swimming lessons. I also had the opportunity to work at Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Malvern, pa (2016-2017). I Read more worked with infant to 3 year-olds. I supervised children from infant to 3 years old, created lesson plans from the education of young children below the age of 3, taught children numbers, colors, shapes, the calendar, and the languages of English and Spanish, and oversaw recess, breaks, and lunchtime. My training also includes good background knowledge of child care and assistant teaching. Through my experience, I have the ability to adapt to any situation. Hard work, commitment, dedication, and the ability to interact effectively with children on all levels is what makes me successful. In addition, I feel I have the ability and sincere interest to learn while on the job. I also have completed background checks and certified in AED/CPR/First-Aid.
