My name is Carla Millener, and I’m 49 years old. I’m originally from Brazil but I am now a naturalized US citizen. My husband is from South Carolina, and we have two sons, 9 and 11 years. We moved from SC to Mechanicsburg in August this year. I have a great deal of experience, both in the medical field and working with children. I’ve worked in an OBGYN clinic and cardiology clinic and have also worked several years as a surgical technician. I loved working in the OR and learned so much. I worked as a babysitter for many friends in Brazil growing up, and for my brother’s and sister’s children. I also worked at a daycare and as a live-in nanny here in US for several years. I used to do basically everything for them including driving their kids to school, events and errands. The girls are all grown Read more up now and two of them are actually married. We’ve kept in touch and are still very close to the family. Also, in regards to my knowledge and experience with kids needing medical care, our younger son had a liver and kidney transplant when he was 1 year old. I learned a tremendous amount in caring for him. In fact, we still have to give a daily shot and regularly, daily medications for him. Thank God he’s doing much better now and requires only the monthly routine tests. My husband and I are both going to school during the week, 8:30 - 1pm, Tuesday thru Friday. So, I’m available most weekdays in the late afternoon-evening and on weekends. We do go to church on Sundays in the morning though.
