I began babysitting for family and friends when I was fourteen. I have babysat children as young as a few months, and as old as ten or eleven years. When I was in high school and college, I frequently babysat on evenings and weekends. During the summer, I babysat an infant and a three year old during daytime hours, Monday through Friday. Responsibilities included providing meals, changing diapers, and engaging with the children through active play. During another summer, I babysat a twelve year old during daytime hours. Responsibilities included providing meals, closely monitoring, and providing transportation. Since obtaining my degree in Psychology in 2013, I have worked extensively in the mental health field. I have provided individual therapeutic support to children that have developmental and mental health disabilities. Working as a Therapeutic Support Staff (TSS) required implementing a mental health treatment plan, collaborating with the client's team of professionals, Read more and supporting clients through mental health crises. After working as a TSS for about a year, I worked as a Family-Based Therapist for children and families with a variety of mental health diagnoses. This job required providing individual and family therapy, working extensively in families' homes, and interacting with children as young as three years and as old as seventeen years. I recently returned from teaching English abroad to third and fourth graders. As you can hopefully see, I absolutely love kids and am devoted to working with children of all ages. My future plans include going back to school to get my Master's in Education, where I hope to work as an elementary teacher.
