My name is Emily Irons and I will be graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education from Saint Joseph’s University on May 17th. I will continue my education for an extra year at SJU and earn my Masters in Education as a Reading Specialist. I am a member of the Women’s Division I Soccer Team and have been team captain since March of 2012. I currently live in the Fairmount section of Philadelphia with my older sister, Amanda. I am an avid Philadelphia sports fan and love spending my summer weekends in Long Beach Island, NJ with my parents, three siblings, and friends. Inspired by my younger two siblings, I have always loved children and wanted to become a teacher. Throughout my early teens and high school years I enjoyed babysitting my family members and friends of my family. Since beginning college I haven’t really had Read more the ability to have a steady babysitting job because of the time commitment playing a division I sport requires. The last few summers I have spent in LBI. I have consistently babysat for a family for about 4 years now. When I began the three boys were 6 months, 2 and 5. I have a special place in my heart for children and am super excited as I reach the final step in becoming a certified teacher in just a few short weeks. I am looking to help out a family over the summer. I am flexible with days and hours and feel comfortable working with any age!
