Past experience with autism and Asperger’s in children and teens 8+ yrs; watched a family of 4 children- including 2 boys with autism as needed through their elementary and high school years. Last 13 years of personal experience of younger stepbrother with Asperger’s. Familiar with sensory needs, verbal and communicative differences, specific behaviors, and social differences. Personal interests of arts, crafts, music and outside stimulation usually allows me to connect with kids on any level they need. Most recently I am managing a 24/7 15 person central dispatch station for a UL certified alarm company. I have been there almost 9 years; training for 8 and managing for 7. Between my formative years child sitting/raising siblings and last decade learning how to train dozens of personalities as well as manage a fast paced dispatch center, my patience under pressure and ability to communicate in multiple ways is more than proficient. Read more I have worked my way through the ranks in the office setting and still find myself wanting to come back to the care field. I find greater moral and personal fulfillment in helping those who need it most than being tied to a desk and phone. I was the oldest sibling and frequent caregiver for my two younger siblings at a very young age till they graduated so caring for others comes naturally to me. CPR certification is expired, but planning and willing to renew and take any preferred certifications/classes by the parents before hiring. References available upon request.
