I am a Junior at Howard University pursuing a Sports Medicine degree and an aspiring Pediatrician. I have experience in babysitting/childcare and an extreme love for children. I was a childcare assistant for a daycare, The Kid’s Room, in Randallstown, MD from June 2012 through June 2015. I assisted with children aging from six weeks to 7 years old. I prepared meals, monitored the children in play areas, and maintained the hygiene of the children as well as the equipment and center. I also was a Childcare Assistant at St. Paul’s PLUS Preschool in Brooklandville, MD. I worked with children aging from six weeks to 5 years old. Here, I assisted with daily learning and physical activities, helped with the children’s developing literacy skills, and monitored the children in outdoor play areas. I am also a mentor. I have been a mentor since I was 15. In high school, I Read more mentored for a program called Bridges, which mentored inner city Baltimore children. At Howard University, I am a mentor for Jewels, Inc., which empowers young urban girls, called Jewels, as future leaders through education, training, and social activism. We provide venues where young urban girls in elementary, middle, and high school can acquire understand of technical as well as social skills necessary to assume leadership roles through actual practice. Lastly, I was a support counselor at Gatorland Camp at St. Paul's School for Girls in the summer of 2017. I worked with elementary school children. I helped create daily activities for the children, provided snacks to the children, and monitored the play areas.
