My name is Elle and I have been working with children since I was 16 years old. I am currently an Early Childhood Education major at Penn State University and am preparing to graduate with a bachelors degree in ECE that will certify me to teach pre-k through 4th grade. I will also graduate with a minor in special education. After graduation, I plan to immediately return to pursue a masters degree in special education. Due to my major, I am up to date on all my child care and teaching clearances, which I am willing to share upon request. I have always had a love for children and knew I wanted to work with them ever since I was a little girl. I have experience working with a wide range of children with a variety of abilities in multiple settings. I babysat three girls (7, 9, and 11) full Read more time in the summer for two years and loved every minute of it. I also have experience working with children in the nursery and teaching Sunday school in the church that I grew up in. After graduating high school, I continued on to Penn State Altoona for college. At PSUA I did my field experience in a Montessori preschool (ages 2-5). This was the best experience of my life and my love for children, teaching, and learning grew every day. I later went on to both volunteer and substitute teach for that preschool up until this past summer when I moved to University Park to complete my degree. While I was new to Montessori learning, I ended up falling in love with the curriculum, children, and the challenge of working with children of all ages in a hands on environment. Due to my minor, I also have experience working with children with physical, mental, and behavioral disabilities. I am looking for a part time position that allows me to add to my experience working with children while I continue my education.
