I recently moved to LA and am in the process of applying for elementary teaching jobs here. I have landed a summer camp job (end of June-beginning of August), which means I'll have minimal daytime availability this summer. I've taught part time in elementary and middle schools for 4 years.  A graduate of Penn State and American University, I studied elementary math education and Spanish.  During college I studied abroad in Costa Rica for 5 months and am proficient in Spanish. My babysitting experience includes having worked for two families consistently for 7 years as their daughters have grown up, as well as for other families periodically, particularly in the summers.  From time to time babysitting for these families has included cousins and friends that have been visiting, so I don't mind having a house full occasionally.  Most of the families I work for have pets, so I am very comfortable with Read more dogs and cats.  I have babysat infants to young teenagers.  I believe that physical activity and creative stimulation are important for the development of the whole child, so I often include playing outside, doing art and cooking projects, going on outings, reading, doing puzzles, and other creative activities with the kids I babysit. Other helpful information: -my current vehicle is a minivan with only 2 seats for passengers, one in the front and one in the very back. -I play roller derby, which practices at night, but isn't consistent week to week. I am willing to babysit instead of going to practice with advanced notice.
