I am a single mother currently attending nursing school for my BSN as a second career option. My own son is 11 years old and I have primarily raised him on my own while working full-time. As my nursing program is challenging, I have decided to only work part-time so that I can focus on my son and my education. In the past, I have worked as a substitute teacher in the regular as well as special education classrooms and found some of the greatest fulfillment in watching children grow and learn. My love of children and helping others stay healthy has lead me to my interest in pediatric or OB nursing. As a mother, my main experience babysitting has been in cooperative with other parents to have a little time off. I have taken care of infants through young teenagers from a few hours through overnights. During my early Read more college years, I also provided babysitting and tutoring services. I feel that my nursing clinical education so far can be a great asset in providing care and possible basic medical treatment. I have my current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification as well as can provide FBI and child abuse clearances.
