My name is Leslie L. Cartagena Rivera. I am a 34 year old female from Barceloneta who is currently looking for work as a full time or part-time childcare provider; preferably as a full-time live out nanny. I have taken early childhood education courses at a community college in Connecticut and I have worked in the past as a babysitter, a tutor, a day care assistant, a camp counselor and as a full time live out nanny. I have been CPR/First Aid certified in the past. I have also been certified by the Red Cross in childcare. I am also a swimmer, fully bilingual and I have a clean driving record. I have written recommendations from previous employers for you to look through if you wish. In my previous experience as a nanny, I took care of three young ladies, an infant who was two months old when I began, Read more a preschooler and a school aged child. The oldest child was a special needs child who had epilepsy; I was responsible for administering her medication. I worked 50 hours per week and I was a part of their family for a year and a half before relocating. The best part of that experience was bonding with the girls, especially with the youngest child since she was the one that I spent the most time with. I enjoy being a nanny because it doesn’t feel like work to me and because I’ve always considered it to be an important job. My favorite age group to work with is the infants to preschool age group. I find that children at this age are very teachable and curious. My favorite activities to do with children are to read to them, go to the playground and do arts and crafts. I can be flexible with hours, schedule and pay. I am willing to do light housekeeping, drive children to activities, prepare simple meals, run errands, arrange play dates, tutor, help with homework, take care of a sick child, work extra hours and overnight if needed. I am also willing to commute and make a long term commitment. As for my hobbies and what I like to do on my free time, I enjoy working out, reading, sewing and all things related to baking (I have a certificate in International Baking from IBC). As far as my personal attributes go, I consider myself to be down to earth and responsible. I hope to be considered as a serious candidate.
