We hired Erica to be a live in nanny for us. We told her that we were looking for someone who could commit for two years because we didn't want our son to experience an influx of nannies coming and going and our last two nannies were Au Pairs, so they had to go home to their own countries. He really missed our last one so I wanted him (as well as my daughter) to have a relationship that lasted longer. We also needed someone we could count on. It took me quite a few weeks to train Erica as I didn't realize exactly how inexperienced she was with young kids. We had a number of incidents (leaving our garage door open/house exposed, her meeting up with a stranger at midnight, etc) that left me having a lot of doubts about her, but I kept wanting to work with her because I knew it was probably a question of immaturity that she would grow out of. She did seem to improve over time (and ALOT of training on my part), but she decided to pack up and move out at 4AM without giving us any explanation or notice. She really left me in a bind by not giving me any notice to find another caregiver so for this reason (on top of the others), I really can't recommend her as a nanny at this point in her life.
