I have been working with children since I was 16. I first began teaching preschoolers when I was in 10th grade through the vocational program at my high school. I taught 3-5-year-olds while I was in the program. I also volunteered at a Montessori school for young children for my senior project in high school with the 3-5-year-olds. Finally, the past two years I have been working at a daycare in West Warwick teaching 2-3-year-olds basic things such as their ABC's, numbers, shapes, colors, basic science, basic writing skills, reading stories to them, dancing with them, and doing many craft projects with them which is my favorite part of the day. The best thing about teaching small children is that you are responsible for laying the foundation for their entire life; a job whose importance is unquantifiable. I worked with kids aged 5-12 during the morning hours as well. I Read more also have babysat privately for a family for a couple of months and I have volunteered at the Rhode Island Air Show in the children's activities tent twice. I am patient, fun, I realize the significance of play, and I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty whether it be mud, crafts, or shaving cream play. I'm punctual and reliable and I put the child first before anything else.
