I am currently looking for a childcare position for May-July 2015, as I will be entering medical school in August of 2015. I have been babysitting since I was 14 years old, after taking a course at my community YMCA. In college, I babysat 3 children, ages 10, 8, and 5, after school for three days a week from September 2010 through May 2011. I was also a surf/ocean lifeguard for 5 summers at a family beach in Rhode Island, during which time I was trained in CPR and first aid. After graduating from college, I babysat intermittently for family friends. During the last year I have babysat for a colleague's family with three children - ages 8, 5, and 3 - usually on weekends for 4-6 hours at a time. This often involves organizing craft activities, taking the children 2-3 blocks to bike or play on a playground, reading, Read more preparing meals and snacks, and getting the kids ready for bed. All families for whom I have babysat limit television and computer activities; this motivates me to be creative when planning activities. Also willing to do some light housekeeping. During May through July, I will have access to a car and have a valid driver's license. I look forward to meeting a new family and help out any way I can!
