I have babysat since I was 13 years old for children between the ages of 2 years and 11 years old. I have babysat for neighbors', relatives', and professors' children, and have babysat as many as four children and two pets at one time. Furthermore, I obtained a Lifeguarding/First Aid certification and CPR certification when I was 15, and have been a swim coach for four years for children ages 6-18. I have also worked as a seasonal lifeguard for three years, and worked as a private and group swim instructor last summer after obtaining my Water Safety Instructor certification. I am a second-year student at the University of South Carolina pursuing a B.S. in psychology, a B.A. in Spanish, and a minor in education. I hope ultimately to work as a teacher for preschool children ages 2-4 and later to obtain my doctorate in psychology and work as a Read more child/adolescent and family psychologist. I am extremely passionate about granting all children the best developmental circumstances possible and ensuring that they are given every opportunity possible to pursue their interests safely and reach their full potential. Because I plan to live in the South after I graduate, I desperately hope to make a positive difference in the lives of children who may otherwise face adversity or discrimination. I would love to use my knowledge of Spanish to reach out to the ever-growing Hispanic population and to give them the same opportunities as their fellow students and families. I come from a large family and am the oldest of six; as such, I have been in close contact with young children for virtually my entire life. I absolutely love playing and working with young kids and feel so privileged when I get a chance to play a part in any aspect of their day. I cannot wait to meet you and your family!
