I am a full time nutrition education specialist for the state teaching healthy cooking classes to individuals from low-income households. I teach the Cooking Matters curriculum to groups that consist of parents, teens, and children. I work around in different parts of the state depending on where my services are requested. I am trying to save money to become a registered dietitian in order to further my career and help more individuals improve their health through their eating habits. I come from a large family where everyone at some point was put in charge of taking care of a younger sibling, cousin, niece, and/or nephew. I then volunteered with the Bulloch County Boys and Girls Club in Statesboro, GA teaching nutrition lessons to children with ages ranging from 5-18 years old. After graduating, I worked for the WIC office for the Lexington and Batesburg-Leesville health departments. I taught basic infant, Read more toddler, child, prenatal, and postpartum/breastfeeding. I am a certified lactation counselor and plan on becoming a board certified lactation consultant. I am adult and pediatric first aid/CPR/AED certified. During the week, I can work 2nd shift hours a couple of days but 3rd and 4th are best. I am most flexible on weekends.
