I am young, but I have had a love for children for over 9 years now. I always say I strive to take care of people's children the way that I would want my own family members cared for. I started doing babysitting jobs around the age of 12. At age 15, I started my first job in the childcare field, helping run a children's summer program. I did the same program for 3 summers, as well as volunteering for a youth group every Wednesday evening. In 2011, I began working at the local Boys & Girls Club and I stayed employed with them for a little over 4 years total. During my time at the Boys & Girls Club, I worked with grades 2 and 3, grades 4 and 5, and then grades 6 and up. My duties there were to plan age-appropriate activities for my group and interact Read more with the children, offer homework assistance, I led a national Boys & Girls Club program called SMART moves, I became Medication Certified to pass medications to various children who required them and much more. Being an employee at Boys & Girls Club, I was required to take CPR training, basic first-aid training, online national Boys & Girls Club staff training and we did many other forms of training through Capital Area Counseling Services. In 2013, I was an employee at First United Methodist church. I assisted in planning for Wednesday School, Sunday School and VBS programs as part of the Christian Education team. I was employed there until 2015. In March 2015, I began working at Little Explorers Extended Hour Childcare Academy. I worked in the potty training classroom. Some of my duties included: creating lesson plans and monthly newsletters, teaching bible stories, potty training the children, and keeping my classroom space clean and organized. I was required to have CPR training, basic first-aid training and other required training online as well as in the daycare facility. I have passed background checks for all of these jobs, I have also been fingerprinted and have passed drug tests.
