My name is Emily, I am originally from a small town in northern Iowa, but am moving to Sioux Falls in mid August for school. I have always had a passion for helping others and caring for others. I recently returned from a 1 month trip to Tanzania, Africa where I was blessed with the opportunity to help so many children and their families. I am a very selfless person, and am committed to putting others needs before mine, at the end of the day it gives me a sense of accomplishment in my self knowing I put someone else's needs before mine, which leads into why I love children so much. I started my babysitting career when I was only 11, watching my small town neighbor girl. On occasion when I was unable to babysit, she would cry and cry when a different babysitter had to come over, I Read more would feel so terrible but good at the same time knowing a child was so comfortable with me as her caregiver. As the years went on and I was in middle school and my first couple of years of high school, about Thursday night would come around and I would be getting calls from families all over town hoping I would be available for the weekend. After a few years of experience, I became very close with a local family with two young kids, I would nanny for them every summer, clean the house, take them on walks and bike rides, to the park, make crafts and play games, and cook for the kids almost every day during the week. On the weekends when I would be watching the kids I would typically be responsible for bathing the kids and getting them off to sleep. I am CPR and first aid certified through the American Red Cross. I have also worked for a year very hard at a local nursing home in my home town. I am very comfortable and open to all ages of children. I am very patient and caring, I am typically very flexible and have been extremely reliable with my past experiences. and I'm excited to find a family to grow close ties with. Emily :)
