I am writing to express my interest in obtaining the position as a caretaker or occasional babysitter for children. I am presently working out of my home as an independent contractor and my hours have been substantially decreased. I presently serve as a parent mentor and coach. I have the desire to utilize my education and work experience to make a positive impact and empower children and families. I have over 16 years of experience working with children and their families developing “protective factors” that drive family and student resilience. My areas of expertise are child well-being & family services, resource development, community organizing, and performance measurement. Currently I am seeking opportunities to continue contracting independently serving families and children. My previous job responsibilities as Co-Leader of the Tied Together Parenting Education Program require creative leadership and a unique ability to catapult community partners and families towards broad community change. As a community leader possessing strong project management skills, I serve alongside a team of professionals implementing strategies to develop “key protective factors” in families throughout the East Nashville Community. Previously ,in my role as a leader, at the Department of Children’s Services supervising a team of 8 child/family case managers ensuring that they maintain continuity of care for children in foster care, coordinating a variety of health and community support services (for example, medical, counseling, alcohol & drug, employment, housing, and independent living skill services) maintaining detailed documentation of client contact and related service data for tracking/progress monitoring purposes. As a leader with the Department of Children’s Services, I served as an advocate for clients coordinating services through community agencies to provide a community-based network to empower children/families, as well as building stronger communities. I left full time work to raise my own 4 children, ages 19,18,13, and 11. With two college bound young adults and two middle school boys I have a lot of experience caring for children. I am in need of an opportunity to continue to maintain a flexible schedule for my family but also earn income
