I "babysat" a boy for three years through late elementary and middle school. I made snacks, helped with homework, and transported to/from school and ball practices. I also privately tutored a first grade girl who struggled greatly while learning to read. I am willing to come in home where the child may feel more comfortable. Along with private work, I also spent three summers cooking and distributing meals to children who may not have access to food during the summer. I was also a public library volunteer for six years, teaching and mentoring in the library's summer reading program. I was also director of children's activities for our church AWANA program, where I worked with youngsters of all ages. I love children and enjoy spending my free time taking care and playing with kids. I often forget that I am working because I have so much fun at what I Read more do. Working with kids at this stage in my life will only prepare me for my future; I am currently in college studying to become an elementary school teacher.
