In high school I babysat for a lot of parents whose older children had out of state events or needed a get away. One summer, I stayed overnight all summer while the parents visited a family member who was sick, and sadly did pass away. I know how to cook most meals kids ask for and I have a habit of doing dishes as they return to the kitchen. I have my own checklist of what I have certain age children do. Simple things: put away your toys scattered around the house or yard once you’re done, bring any and all dishes to the kitchen when done, tidy up your room, dirty clothes in either the clothes hamper or in the laundry room.
