I have both personal and professional experience utilizing applied behavior analysis and positive behavior support to care for and provide for all individuals, including those with special needs. I prefer positive reinforcement and redirection over any form of punishment as I believe that with the right motivation, any behavior can be modified. In addition to my enthusiastic nature and ability to connect with others in creative ways, I have obtained training, certificates, and other qualifications to strengthen my skills. I am first aid and CPR certified, a state-certified Article 9 trainer, a fingerprint clearance card holder, an experienced HCBS trainer, and habilitation (HBB and HBM) provider. I have provided care for individuals with different levels of needs (cerebal palsy, down syndrome, autism, non-verbal, behavioral, etc.) and have volunteered many of my free hours to the Special Olympics and various fund-raising non-profit organizations.
