Aloha- I am 35 years old and relocated to Abilene from Hawaii this past September to join my fiancee who is stationed here. Prior to moving to Texas, I was a fully licensed foster care facility and subsequently became an adoptive parent to two now grown children who were in my care from birth and are currently in school back home. I successfully completed all mandatory parenting classes, child safety courses, and background checks to gain my State licensing to care for foster children. I have experience in, patience for, and knowledge of emotional/behavioral issues (my daughter has ADHD), learning disabilities (my son has a memory based affliction which affects his reading and comprehension), and physical deformities (both children were diagnosed with Cherubism- a rare disorder that causes skeletal dysplasia in either the top or bottom jaw). I have experience in school work and project preparation for grades K-12.
