A mom knows what a mom wants. I am a mother and I know the kind of care I would expect for my own child. Not just a babysitter- a loving care giver, a friend, someone who can be silly and fun, and trusted to keep my precious child safe and content. Previous to having my 3 year old daughter, I have had 4 years experience working at a childcare as the assistant director. We had babies as little as 6 weeks old, all the way up to pre-k aged 4 and 5 year olds. This was the most fulfilling job I have ever had. To watch children of all ages and abilities, develop new skills, learn new concepts, and grow to be courageous independent little people is more rewarding than words can describe. I would want more than just a babysitter for my child. I would want somebody who is willing to being considered family and help to contribute a sense of stability to my life's greatest work of all- my offspring! I believe mutual respect and emotional intelligence is vital to building a strong foundation for relationships in all areas of life- with family, friends, employers, co-workers and most of all children. Lead by example and remember the golden rule. I have been babysitting as long as I can remember, and am drawn to the boundless curiosity and wonder of young minds. One of my favorite college courses has been psychology and human growth and development. I consider myself to be a life long learner, and am fascinated by child development and the unexpected lessons our children teach us! I am currently going to school to be an Occupational Therapist Assistant. I am very open minded and respect everyone's individual parenting style. I am open to kids of all ages and abilities. From working at the preschool, i am confident and comfortable watching up to 6 children at one time. I live a very active lifestyle and prefer outdoors over technology any day. I am CPR and first aid certified. I have reliable transportation with insurance. My availability varies, and I am flexible. Generally, I am available mornings and early afternoons.
