I have 3 years of experience as a babysitter, having cared for children and infants from 8 months old to 13 years old. I am CPR certified. Personality-wise, I am very warm, nurturing, and in the past I have been told I have the "patience of a saint." Having graduated from UT Austin in May 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Science, I am very knowledgable about early childhood development and appropriate practices while working and interacting with children. Additionally, I am currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling at St. Edward's University, training to become a Marriage and Family Therapist. I grew up helping raise my younger brother, who is on the low functioning end of the autism spectrum. Additionally, since 2012 have been employed as an ABA Therapist in the Austin area, working with children on the autism spectrum from 4 to Read more 16 years of age. I am a very creative individual, as I love both music and art. I play piano, violin, flute, and bassoon, and I have experience teaching middle and high school students private lessons in bassoon. I am also an avid drawer, with a particular interest in drawing cartoons and comics. If children are interested in either music or art, I am always happy to engage them in artistic expression. When it comes to babysitting, I always like to pay special attention to the children's interests and hobbies. I firmly believe in helping develop whatever it is children are passionate about, and I am always willing to learn more if it's not something I am personally familiar with.
