Hi there! My name is Melissa, I'm 20 years old, and a college student at Southwestern University (30 minutes North of Austin), but am in between schools right now (I took my second year off), so I am currently back home for the semester (at HCC), though I will return to Southwestern in the spring. It is a prestigious, private, liberal arts 4-year university that is also the oldest university in Texas. I am an Education major, specializing in secondary English education, and also a double minor in English and Psychology, which I find really interesting. I absolutely love kids and have tons of experience babysitting, working as a counselor at various camps, and being around children in general. I particularly work well with younger kids but have experience with all ages. I have worked with newborns, toddlers, and pretty much all kids from ages 0 to 13. I am very responsible and organized, but also fun and energetic. I love playing games with kids and just entertaining them in general. I also am very clean, so rest assured your home will be spotless upon your return. In addition, I love to cook! I'd be more than happy to cook dinner for your kids, wash dishes, as well as get them bathed & ready for bed. I am a very creative person, and strive to come up with new ways to make sure your child has a great time! My original passion has and always will be creative writing, but since this field was not offered as a major at Southwestern, I chose English as the next best thing. Literature I enjoy, but the writing aspect of the English degree is definitely my favorite.
