My name is Maria, I am 28 years old and I have over 7 years of paid child care experience. I am bilingual in English and Spanish, I have a bachelors degree in multidisciplinary studies with a concentration in health promotion. I am currently and education coach but I have worked as a teacher and child care provider for several years. I have worked with different types of households and provided childcare ranging from infants to teenagers. I love kids and many people describe me as the baby whisperer. I hope some day have children of my own. While I was in college I babysat for my sister's kids (now a 8 nyear old boy and a 5 year old girl, who are the light of my life). I have been surrounded by kids most of my life, I am pretty good at making the children feel confident as well Read more as to create a bond with their parents. I have learnt a lot about child development, psychological and nutritional factors. Most of my education consisted in how people (from all ages) adopt behaviors and how we set the path for development. More than just a nanny I am educated to teach and set healthy behaviors for the children and help parents set or maintain daily routines. My method/theory/philosophy is learning based on observation. We all learn in a different ways, we like different environments, colors, textures, etc. and we cannot use the same pattern to teach for everyone as we all are different. I love to incorporate art and crafts as well as music and games. For 2 years I was a volunteer at an orphanage is Juarez Mexico for children with special needs. To serve such special human beings ,it was the most fulfilling experience ever.
