24 years in public school education, with a minor in Early Childhood, I have been working with young children since I was around fifteen. I have two wonderful grown children of my own, no grandchildren as of yet. I taught kinder for seven years, first grade for seven, and second grade for six, I completed my master in Library Science and Information, and worked in an elementary library for the last four years. I started a Raise a Reader program in my school community, for parents of young children. The program helped parents teach their young children beginning reading skills. I also started a summer Reading Program in my community, so child had a safe place to come do arts and crafts, play, and read.
