I have always loved being around young and growing children. I am the 2nd oldest out of 6 kids, have one niece, and one on the way. The ages of my siblings range from 24 all the way to 12. While my mother was going through nursing school, she was hardly home in the evenings. From my freshman year of high school until my senior year, I helped her in raising my two little brothers (who were 4 and 5 then). My oldest sister and I would help each other to prepare dinner most evenings and get them through their homework as they got older. At the same time, I was babysitting for our neighbors and her sister on designated eveinings. My very first job babysitting was when I was around 10 and living in California. My mom's best friend would have me over a lot during the summer to Read more watch her 4 year old during the summer, which included taking him to the town, playing at the park, and making sure he ate breakfast and lunch. Upon moving to Texas, my younger sister and I were listed in the community paper as a team of babysitters and held a few recurring jobs until we relocated to another area of town. I am a Junior at UTSA currently obtaining online credits between ACC and San Antonio College. I bartend in South Austin (predominantly on the weekends and evenings after 5pm). I am a very active person and love to be outside. I do love to read on my off time. I am in the National Guard as well which takes up one weekend per month. I have a pretty basic knowledge of ASL and Spanish as well. I am willing to learn as much as I am always ready to guide others. I love working with children when I get the chance, and I can guarantee that I am responsible with them. In fact, a lot of my "best friends" are children I have had the chance to get to know.
