While growing up in England, I developed caring and nurturing characteristics through my special needs sister. She has been my inspiration for many things that I have accomplished thus far, and taught me to appreciate many things in life. I moved to Waco, Texas in 2011 so I could attend Baylor University and participate on their golf team. During my studies, I was able to babysit/nanny for my coach, his friends, as well as my academic advisor and her co-workers. The ages I looked after ranged from 6 months to 8 years old, and I would occasionally have up to 6 children at one time. After graduating, I remained at Baylor for my Masters degree in Sport Pedagogy. During my study I was able to work at St. Paul’s Elementary School in Waco. My position at the school was Head of Physical Education, and for 2 years I was able Read more to work with, and teach students from ages 2 through 12. This was a great experience to work with children of various ages, various personalities, and various abilities. For the past year I have been playing professional golf, and have had the opportunity to coach golf students from ages 5 through 15. This experience further helped develop my multi-tasking, spacial awareness, safety, and communication skills. I truly believe that working with children in some aspect is my calling. I am looking to begin studies in Physical Therapy so I can become a Pediatric Physical Therapist. I feel that being a nanny will give me an opportunity to continue developing communication skills, and instructional skills needed to interact with children.
