I've always loved babies and children and have been involved in their care and training since I was a preteen. Began helping in VBS and church nursery, then babysitting. In high school, I volunteered to work with a local Down's baby and during that time received D.E.B.T.(Developmental Education Birth through Two) training. After graduating, as valedictorian of my class, I worked at Christian Childcare Center in Lubbock, Tx before getting married. I am a wife, mother of seven(5 sons, 2 daughters), mother-in-law to 2 sons and 1 daughter, and grandmother of one almost 4 month old boy. I have taught or assisted in VBS programs, children's choirs, children's church, Sunday school, etc. in churches that we have attended. I have homeschooled all our children and to date have graduated five. Still homeschooling our two youngest. I have spent my lifetime reading aloud, learning, singing, playing indoors and outdoors with all Read more ages. Coloring books/pages from beginner to adult, puzzles-from preschool to 1000 piece, board games-to-card games, wood blocks-to-Duplos and Legos and yes some video games and movies/ tv shows have been completed, played, watched, discussed etc. Cooking and of course eating, gardening, lawn work and basic auto and home repair have all been accomplished and mostly enjoyed. I am comfortable with pets including but not limited to: dogs, cats, birds, fish, ferrets and chickens. Outside of my home: I have volunteered at a pregnancy center, played trumpet for community praise nights, run sound for private school musical performances, been an active member in church choir and praise and worship team.
