Hello, My name is Maureen Martin. I am 21 years old and am a Psychology and Physics major at Southern Methodist University. I have always loved learning about infant care and development and volunteered in the Doctor's Hospital maternity ward through all 4 years of high-school and my first year of college. In order to work at Doctor's as an official volunteer, I took an 8 week course specifically to learn more about infant care (0-18 months) and am now what I like to call "baby certified" (includes CPR certification). Not only will I provide love and care to your infant, but I will note and help cultivate the vital developmental skills that an infant learns in their first year and a half (giving you weekly updates). I would be happy to discuss the physical, social, and cognitive milestones in this important initial stage of an individuals life. I also Read more have extensive experience caring for my two young cousins and infants at an orphanage in Honduras (photo attached). I miss the amazing experience of caring for an infant (Doctor's hospital is too far from SMU) and would love to have the opportunity to help in anyway I can. I do not have my own car but I use the Uber car service to and from school every day; the same would apply to the location. (I pay for the service) I am comfortable with dogs but allergic to cats. All other pets are perfectly fine. My schedule is flexible! I work mornings at Fondren Library at SMU and am not taking too many hours this semester so I will work around your needs! To clarify, I wish to work with children 0-18 months old, as that age is what I have been trained for. Working with one child is preferable but two is absolutely fine. My other work experience includes working at my parents law firm during the summer.
