I'm a 27 year old, recently graduated, soon to be therapist. Currently, I watch a 15 month old little girl and her 3 year old brother daily, which entails playing, snack, and whatnot. I also watch little ones for those in services at a local church. I have also worked as a volunteer childcare worker for a local domestic violence shelter. On top of this experience, I also have a ton of informal experience babysitting little cousins, nieces, nephews, etc. Very simply, I love hanging out with kids. I like playing silly games and listening to the funny things that they say. Having a psychology background, I'm also able to engage with them on their developmental level. As far as training goes, outside of my education regarding the psychological/developmental sides to children, I am also SAMA trained. SAMA deals with aggression management techniques which means I know how to do Read more things like safely help an out of control child calm down and not hurt themselves or others, things like that. Not a skill set I like to use first and foremost BUT it's good to know.
