Hello! Thank you for taking the time to view my profile. I have been a sitter for about 14 years now and intend on being a sitter as long as I can. I love kids and can't wait to have my own. My first experience as a sitter involved my 13 year old self looking after 3 young boys and an infant girl. It was something else to say the least. I had the support of my mom and the family's neighbors making the task not so scary. I stayed with this family until I graduated high school and moved up to Denton, TX. I spent almost 2 years working at Adventure Kids Playcare and decided that private sitting was the ideal place for me. While I enjoyed the business of the public setting, I didn't feel like I could connect as well with as many of the children. There Read more is a silver lining to this story! I worked with a brother-sister pair who had less-than-ideal discipline and attention at home. Because manners are important to me, I decided to try and push these kids in the right direction. It wasn't taken well at first but by the end of my time there, I was getting more hugs and pictures drawn for me than I could have ever imagined. It was a pretty cool feeling to see the changes in their behavior and know that I got to impact their lives. Currently I have been with the same two families, Family A and Family B, for quite some time. I have been working with Family A for 3 years this April and usually go 2-3 times/week as an after-school/weekend day sitter. I have been working with Family B for almost 2 years as a date-night sitter. I have also been a sitter for my church pastor's almost-2-year-old twins and 6 month old infant for about a year. Because I have been with these families for extended periods of time, I have developed wonderful relationships with them and feel like I am part of their family too. One of the things I love most about being a sitter is having fun! I'm just a big kid at heart so it's nice to do something I love with younger folks who aren't as serious as all my professors in school. I love trying new things and I also love many typical kid things like puzzles, coloring, games, dress-up, etc. Safety is a biggie for me so I am always careful to make sure that if we are having fun, we are safe about it. When parents trust me to take care of their children, I don't take that responsibility lightly. Thank you again for viewing my profile! If you think I might be a good fit for your family, feel free to send me a message.
