Hello! My name is Victoria Blanton. I graduated from Baylor University this past May with my bachelor's degree in social work. My degree has given me extensive knowledge of human development and behavior. This means that I have the knowledge and experience to tailor different activities and tutoring strategies that will best complement your child's stage of development. During my senior year of college I participated in an internship at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in their Women's and Children's units. Through working in the NICU, Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, and Pediatric units I was able to learn many unique skills and techniques for infant and child care. Some of these skills include: how to swaddle, properly bottle feed, when to introduce different foods, how to give a bath, etc. I also have extensive experience in caring for children of all ages. I have been babysitting since I was 11 Read more years old. I have also worked at a music camp for kids from Pre-K to 6th grade. Over the past 12 years of working at this camp I have done everything from working as a counselor to eventually becoming the co-director over the entire camp. I had my own group of 4-6 year old campers, I oversaw all youth and adult volunteers, I coordinated all aspects of our day trips to local waterparks, and I was responsible for the well-being of all 100+ campers during my time there. I have my own SUV that can hold 4 passengers, along with myself. I am willing to drop off/pick up kids from school or extracurricular activities. I am also available for overnight stays and weekends, with advanced notice. I am comfortable with pets and am willing to run errands or do housework when needed. I am also trained in first aid. I recently had a background check performed when I was interning at Baylor Scott and White Hospital. I am willing to have another background check performed. Overall, I love working with kids. I love getting to watch them grow and develop into young men and women. I love getting to listen to their stories and work with them to foster their dreams and emerging passions. I look forward to exploring with you how I can fit into your family.
