I am a 21 year old graduating from the University of North Texas with a BA in psychology (and minor in developmental and family studies) with honors in May 2015. I will then take a year off of school and be applying to Clinical Psychology Ph.D. programs. I am passionate about working with children, particularly those with mental health disorders, physical disabilities and/or cognitive disabilities. Not only could I help care for a child with disabilities, but could help with any child/teen. In Summer 2014 I was a full time intern at the Child Mind Institute in Manhattan, where I received daily interaction and training with children with different mental health and behavioral challenges. I assisted with treatment, and was also a one-on-one counselor in two week-long intensive treatment programs (one for children with learning disabilities and one for children with anxiety disorders). I regularly volunteer at an organization teaching Read more social skills to children across the autism spectrum and with a variety of other disabilities. I have been working part time in a psychology research lab on campus studying the effects of stress and development on teens. I have drivers license, a car, and a clean driving record. I love kids, pets, and strive to be a positive role model!
