I am a senior at the University of Houston majoring in Psychology and History/ Pre-Med with a minor in Biology. As an aspiring medical student, the areas of medicine I am interested in include psychiatry, cognitive development, neuroscience, and pediatrics. Even though so far my babysitting experience is limited to children within my own family I do have several experiences working with children. I am very active in my church where I have been a counselor and teacher for children and adolescents. I have also volunteered at a pediatric clinic and have shadowed the pediatrician on his clinical rounds. Currently, I volunteer at Texas Children's Hospital as a baby holder in the NICU and with the Ronald McDonald House within Texas Children's where I interact with the children and their families. Moreover, I am a research assistant at the Cognitive Development Lab in my school where I get to work Read more with children as we conduct various studies concerning how children's understanding of the world changes over time. Particularly, we study infant's and children's language learning as a tool to deepen our understanding of the learning processes. Furthermore, by the American Heart Association I am a healthcare provider CPR certified. All in all, I love working with children. God willing, one day in the future I will become a pediatrician.
