I love being with kids. Throughout my life, I have been surrounded by kids of many ages and abilities. Because my mom is one of six kids, I am part of a large family with lots of cousins. In elementary and middle school, you could likely find me in the street playing with the neighborhood kids of all ages. In high school, I baby-sat for numerous families on a regular basis. In high school, I followed two passions: dance and volunteer work for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a result of this, I have extensive experience working with children with special needs. This includes volunteering at Adam's camp (a camp for children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities) for three years, being a member and officer of my schools Best Buddies program where I had a one-on-one relationship with a boy with autism for two years, and Read more six years of volunteering for challenger baseball. Challenger baseball is a division of little league baseball in which boys and girls with disabilities (ages 4-18) are given the opportunity to play baseball. These experiences have taught me how to be more patient and have improved my communication skills. I enjoy babysitting because I love the unpredictability of the job. I love not being sure what adventure or challenge I will be faced with at work, and adapting to things at a moments notice. I am an energetic and outgoing person who loves to entertain and socialize with humans of all ages.
