- Certified in First Aid, and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals (CPR) - Bachelor of Science in Child Learning and Development - Current medical student - 10+ years of babysitting experience - 4 years of camp counselor experience - Extensive experience with children who have various medical conditions I have been babysitting since I was thirteen with children ages two to ten. I've babysat for as many as three siblings at a time, as well as for families with large, high-energy dogs. I'm comfortable with cooking, arts and crafts, tutoring, and outdoor play with children. I have four years of experience as a Girl Scout Camp counselor. Along with one to three other counselors, I was responsible for the safety and care for as many as thirty girls at a time. We were responsible for leading activities such as games and arts and crafts, as well as supervising during Read more mealtime and bedtime. I have also had two months of experience volunteering at a Bolivian disabled children's hospital. There, I was responsible for supervising children (ages three to ten) during play and outings, helping them dress, brush their teeth, etc, and supervising and assisting children with poor motor control during mealtimes. I have experience and feel comfortable with a range of special needs, including but not limited to Down's Syndrome, physical disabilities, cerebral palsy, ADHD and ADD, and OCD. I have Bachelor in Science in Child Development from the University of Texas at Dallas. At UT Dallas, I volunteered in a research group that investigates cognitive (thought) processes as they develop from preschool to adulthood. We walk children and their parents though a vareity of tests that test their thining skills, and use our findings to draw conclusions about the best way to foster children's cognitive develpment. My coursework has givien me knowledge about the care and development of children from birth through the teen years, and I have extensive experience using that knowledge as a camp couselor, volunteer, and research assistant. Now I am a medical student at Baylor College of Medicine, intending to become a pediatrician. I have had learning experiences working at a general pediatrician's office, as well as volunteering at Texas Children's with children with genetic conditions.
