I became a caregiver at a young age simply because I love children. I am the fourth child out of five. My little sister was born when I was five and I helped my mother take care of her. At the age of eleven I gave up a family vacation in order to stay home and take care of two young girls so I could earn money to buy my own school clothes. My mom and dad were very involved in church ministry and I started volunteering to help with activities at church involving children such as Vacation Bible School, Fall Festivals and Christmas Cantatas. At an early age my parents instilled in me the importance of learning and serving others and striving to achieve the very best in whatever I was doing. My goal growing up was to be an elementary school teacher. I married at the age of Read more 18 and completed 2 years of college and received my Associate Degree in Elementary Education. My college education was interrupted when I gave birth to my two children. When my youngest child was 18 months I started my career working in the high school library at the school where I graduated. While I worked there I also taught the after-school program at KinderCare Learning Center and worked weekends at Tender Care Learning Center which serviced the local hospital staff. My children were able to attend the daycare with me in the summer and on weekends. In 1994 I left the library and accepted the job of preschool teacher/co-director at Tender Care. A few years later I accepted the position of Director at Children Today. I worked long hours in order to increase enrollment and improve the quality of the daycare. I moved to Texas in 1998 and accepted a job running the office at a water/sewer construction business but I continued to work evenings and weekends in childcare and teaching at the church I attended. I moved to Texas City in March and my goal is to return full time to the business of caring for children. That is where my heart is and I love seeing them grow and change in a positive way. They keep me young and make my heart happy. They always bring fresh perspective and I learn so much from them. I am very organized and I am not afraid of work. My goal in life is to do everything to the very best of my ability! I enjoy helping others. I have recently been enrolled in classes on Saturday with regard to childcare at College of the Mainland. I plan to continue taking classes to enrich my learning pertaining to caring for children. I look forward to hearing from you!
