Hi! My name is Alina. I am a student at East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, TX; and I am studying to be a teacher. I love hanging out with kids of all ages, and have been involved in childcare for most of my life. Ever since I was young, I have been working with my mom to help and look after babies and toddlers aged newborn to six years old. My parents did social work in the country of Indonesia in a remote tribal village, and because of this we were the only source of help and medicine available. I spent long hours playing with kids and learning to help them, and once I was in high school I helped with childcare for the local church. I then began receiving various requests from families who needed a babysitter, and I ended up helping dozens of parents. Eventually, I was Read more able to help with childcare for larger organizations such as Ethnos 360 and Mission Aviation Fellowship. I loved helping out like this, and it showed at school as well. Because I participated so often in childcare for the community, most of the kids in our small elementary school knew me, and I loved being able to call them my friends. I was even voted Student of the Year for my enthusiasm and involvement with the community. Although I have no legal certification, my past has left me experienced in First Aid and various other medical procedures. As far as discipline goes, I have a strict no-contact policy and will resort only to time-out with direct permission from parents. Any directions given by the parents will be adhered to with no exceptions, as long as they are not violating any of my personal policies. I also make an effort to stay off of my cellphone and other devices while with kids, giving them my full attention. I am excited to meet you and your child(ren), and look forward to fun games, movies, snack-time, and more!
