Hello, my name is Janelle Pena, I am 24 years old. I am bilingual but not fluently. I speak both English and Spanish. I have worked in childcare for about 5 years and love every minute of it. Right now, I am living in Texas but do plan on moving to Oklahoma soon. I will be arriving January 11, 2021. After that I will be available every day, anytime. Was attending College to study education elementary level. I have yet to finish with my degree but do hope to return to school soon to do that. Have done volunteer work in two elementary schools in Los Fresnos, Texas working with teachers and students. At the time I was still in high school volunteering as a Teachers Aid. I worked alongside the teacher to make sure the students were doing the assignments right or if they needed assistants I was there Read more to help. Once I graduated a family member offered me a job at her daycare. I worked alongside another teacher, was amazing. Working at the daycare and alongside different teachers taught me so much. We had all different ages in our classroom. I would go in earlier in the mornings to set up the classroom before the kids would arrive. Making sure classroom was clean and everything was set up. I did that job for a summer. After I was finished there I was employed with the Children's Museum of Brownsville. In this job I was responsible for cleaning up after the children when they were playing in different exhibits, different activities, and just watching the floor to make sure everyone is having fun or needed help in any way. I have worked with children outside of my jobs as well. I baby sat many children and tutored a few. I never had any trouble with the children or the parents, always got great feedback. I always like to make sure the children I am caring for are always having fun when I am around. There are rules and such but having fun is the best rule of them all. I want to be able to inspire children to learn and create. So, I like to come up with some activities to keep them busy and to have some fun. Working with children is a passion of mine and I hope to inspire and change the lives of different children.
