I have experience with caregiving for children at both the YWCA and YMCA. I worked at the YMCA during the summer of 2012 and watched over children at the first and second grade level. Many of the days I would be by myself at the maximum ratio of 25:1 for child to caregiver ratio. At this time we would go up to the gym to play basketball, head to the park, do arts and crafts, among many other activities. I worked at the YWCA from May 2013 to February 2014. It was a great experience and while some of the time was during the school year, some was also in the summer where the kids would participate in camp at various locations. I was the leader for the kids who were pre-K and kinder age. We would play with toys, watch movies, do arts and crafts, swim at the pool, Read more among many other outdoor activities. When the parents would come pick up their kids I would inform them on how the childs day went and would write several notes per kid. I would also keep track of which kids ate and how many kids were present every 20 to 30 minutes. We were also required to do extensive hours of training on how to properly care for each kid. I think my experience qualifies me as a great candidate for nannying or babysitting kids at any level. I am very outgoing and want to make sure the kids have a great summer.
