Bonswa! My name is Allison and I'm currently a freshman college student going to Texas Tech University! Ever since I was about 12 I wanted to make a career out of anything that had to do with children, and throughout the search, I've found that I wanted to go to nursing school and work in a hospital's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Since then, I've taken many medicinal classes, I've shadowed in the hospital both in the ER, NICU, and Labor and Delivery departments of a local hospital in Houston. I'm Basic Life Support Trained, OSHA certified, and am very quick to respond to an emergency situation, god willing there is one. A little bit about me, I'm in a sorority, a biology major, I'm scuba diving certified, I love to travel, and I'm from Houston, Texas. I've taken 7 mission trips in my life, one every year since the Read more seventh grade, with the most recent being to an orphanage in Mayan, Haiti. Being able to show children that society tells they are "unwanted" that they are so loved was the greatest joy of my life. While in Haiti I learned how to cater not just to a difficult child's needs, but also how to take care of differently abled children at the same time. I love teaching children as well, being able to show my four-year-old cousin how to count was some of the most fun I've had in a while. Knowledge is very important to a child's development, and I would be more than happy to not just play or look after your child, but also to tutor or teach your child in any subject.
