I am 37 and have been working with kids on & off for 26 years. Growing up, I worked with children between the ages of 6 months & 13 years old. Currently I'm a full-time Nanny (the dad says I'm technically a governess) for 13 year old twin girls & I occasionally help out with their 10 year old twin brothers who are both autistic. I've been with this same family for almost 3 years. I'm soley responsible for managing the house & the girls extremely hectic schedules, including sports, piano, tutoring, & much more! When their dad is out of town frequently, I am their surrogate parent. Before this, I was a child care worker at a fitness center for about 1 year. As far as caring for the infants and toddlers, we had so much fun playing, reading, & bouncing! There were times when I was watching 8-10 babies at once, mostly on my own, so I have an extreme amount of patience. Took care of feeding the infants and soothing them when they were upset. I really love my girls, but would love to care for younger children & infants. I really love & adore children. And I truly believe that this is what I'm meant to be doing...to find a great family with great kids who I can care for like they're my own! Besides caring for the children and keeping them entertained, I was also the designated tutor at the Kids Club. Being an outstanding student in High School, College, & Graduate School was very important to me, but the best part about all my years of education was the simple fact that I LOVED going to school every day! Even though school is almost out for the summer, it doesn't mean that the learning should stop! I loved school growing up, & I would love to pass on that passion for learning to children I care for. Children are NEVER too young to start, & I believe that learning can be fun at any age! I'm CPR & First Aid Certified. Aside from those, I was also a lifeguard for years & a Competitive Swimmer for 13 years. So, during the summer & warm months (or even the indoor rec pools when it's cold outside), I would definitely be more than happy to give your precious children swim lessons while I'm caring for them...or just hang out at the pool if that's what they want to do!
