I am a recent college graduate/returned Peace Corps. Volunteer. I completed my Peace Corps. service on December, 13, 2013 after serving 2 years and 4 months in a remote village in Ukraine. During my time in the Peace Corps, I worked as a teacher of English language to children between the ages of 5-17, conducted lessons, and ran various clubs in my Ukrainian community. Before joining the Peace Corps, I had extensive experience living/working overseas in India, Peru(x2), South Africa (x3), Russia, and Tanzania(all of which was concurrent with my education). In all those environments I worked with local teachers, conducted lessons, and did a variety of activities for children from singing/dancing, to arts and crafts, to reading and writing. Because of my background in education, I have worked with a variety of children over the years including those with special needs including those characterized by behavioral problems such as Read more ADD/ADHD. I have also worked extensively with students who had additional medical needs. Over the years I have come to love the children I have worked with and I have enjoyed seeing them grow, learn, and progress through their studies. I have also developed extremely close relationships with the people I have worked for in the process. It is my hope to one-day join the NGO sector full-time and I am currently saving money to get my Master's Degree in International Development.
